Why use Spivey College Consulting?

Why hire a consultant?  Most high schools in the area have a college and career counselor on staff to assist students with the ins and outs of the college application process.  So why would I hire a consultant?  As a former college and career counselor and academic counselor, I can attest that it is impossible to give students the type of one-on-one assistance they need when the caseload of students we have is 400 or more per year.  The process of finding the right college, applying to that college, and supplying all the supplemental information is an overwhelming process to tackle on your own.  Not to mention finding scholarship money and applying for financial aid.

At Spivey College Consulting, I provide direction and advice for the college search and selection process.  My focus is on organizing and prioritizing the details of the admissions application into manageable steps so that the student does not feel overwhelmed.  Helping the student sort through his or her interests, goals, high school course selection, testing, a "best fit" college list, essay topics, campus visits and interview alleviates information overload and the stress associated with this experience.
